After earning a BA in Economics and MBA in Finance from Syracuse University in 1986, Mr. Cuddeback was recruited to Burroughs Corporation and was promoted twice in two years, during the Company’s merger with Sperry Univac to form Unisys. He left Unisys to lead the business planning process for Lytel, a private tech startup founded by Bells Labs researchers producing semi conductor laser lightwave transceivers. When the company was sold a little over a year later to AMP, a global electronics conglomerate, Mr. Cuddeback joined Armco Inc., an integrated steel, oil field equipment, and insurance multi-national, where he managed the companies investments, borrowings, and banking network. After being promoted during four years with the company, he left when it relocated it’s offices to join Joy Technologies, the world leader in underground mining equipment, where he led an overhaul of the Companies banking, forecasting and investment programs. When the company was acquired two years later, Mr. Cuddeback joined The Estee Lauder Companies, a world leader in prestige personal care and beauty products, serving with an international finance team, managing the Companies global operational liquidity. Nearly three years later, he accepted an offer from a previous manager to join a privately held tech firm, Advanced Silicon Materials, and be part of a leadership team launching an IPO. However, within two years the firm was forced to retrench as the dot com crash approached and the IPO was cancelled. He then left to be part of the turnaround management at Alaris Medical Systems Inc., again directing global liquidity and forecasting, while the firm value increased 20 times over the following five years, until it was acquired by Cardinal Health, one of the world’s largest health care supply firms. He next joined Amylin Pharmaceuticals, where over the following nearly seven years he variously led planning, investments, special projects and related Finance areas during the company’s explosive growth, prior to its’ later acquisition by Bristol Myers Squibb, a global pharmaceutical firm. Mr. Cuddeback then joined another turn around situation, Pulse Electronics, relocating the Companies HQ investment, liquidity, banking and insurance processes. During a restructuring that subsequently led to the company being acquired and taken private, Mr. Cuddeback left the firm. Mr. Cuddeback then launched Cash View Dynamics to bring the wealth and variety of his operational and financial experience to clients with interim, temporary or project-based requirements.
Mr. Cuddeback is a member of Toast Masters and is available for speaking engagements on Financial and Business Excellence topics. He has guest lectured at the UCSD Rady School of Management graduate program. Mr. Cuddeback is a Command Pilot with Angel Flight West, a charitable organization providing transportation to financially in-need patients requiring non-critical care. He is a member of SAR, a civic organization whose members are verified descendants of veterans of the American Revolution. Mr. Cuddeback is married with one child and resides in San Diego, CA.
